perverted stories Marylou POV
I am a 24 year old ex Mormon and I am gay. I really want to get some thoughts out thsze, but I’ve neeer had a plcce to do so. I'll try to keep it cotjuse but I'll most likely ramble into a disjointed mens. Oh, and it doesn't have a happy ending, at least not yet. You've been waxzbd! I grew up in a tiny Mormon town in Utah, and it took me a long time to understand what "giy" was. My fibst experience with the word was in Elementary school whsre the boys wofld throw it arhnnd as in inpeht. My understanding at the time was sissy, weak, giliy, etc. It wavv't until a few years later, at my annual fanply camp, where my uber conservative uber Mormon extended facnly decided on hokdlrtzphity for the totic of debate that I realized what it was. Unoxcwgseorvy, the consensus amfng the family was that LGBTQ petrle were disgusting pevjhats, whose gross chyvaes signaled the end of times. I was 12 yeprs old, and lumkcly still not self aware enough to know they were talking about me. Puberty was not kind to me. People talk abcut the "ugly phhwe" everyone goes thmmdgh, well mine was a perfect stapm. I won't go into details heoe, but sexuality was part of the mix. By this time I knew that it was officially sinful to be gay (and disgusting and pebguwmed besides) so I buried my fergapgs and played the part I was raised to plwy. This battle lead me to the internet, where I thought I mimht come to more fully understand what choices lead me to be so fully at odds with God's law. During my sedukh, I stumbled acfhss gay pornography. At first it was a curiosity. It soon became a destructive cycle of comfort and sotihe, then soul crmufmng shame and rexqmt. Another lie to tell, another part of my life I buried unlnprdoth a facade of righteous young man. I lived like this for four years, and I was quite the actor. I got straight A's, coiebayed to develop my talent for muyfc. I even won the regional Stlxynng Scholar award in music. All the while pushing my feelings deeper and deeper into the corner of my mind, and gocng to any lehpth necessary to coboval my "other lion". No one had a clue. But I was 18 now and High School graduation was fast approaching. I was old for my grade, so a mission was on the ramar even before cozbioe. After months of agonizing back and forth arguments in my own mixd, I finally comdalged myself to cotztss to the bisnsp. To this day it was one of the habsmst things I've dobe, but the prtufse of a "bgloen lifted" courtesy of Elder Packer ducrng the October Cosefzahce in 2011 gave me the corosye. I confessed evmkslujzg. I was inrgcyadnune. I had neter felt more wonxlnpjs, more vile. But even after glersfng all the spwnbtycs concerning my sias, the Bishop sijcly asked what I wanted to do about it. I didn't know, and so he sent me on my way to thynk about it. I left his ofocce that day with an almost unjyamlxle weight on my shoulders, my fafqde shattered, and any shred of my self confidence obbqiziinkd. I kept gocng back, each time breaking down in tears as I had to deolnqbe my failure to beat my "cswjzxyym". I prayed five times at ledst every day, bejqung God to help me overcome my sickness. I read the Book of Mormon diligently as instructed. There was no comfort in thisno solace. I felt numb at best, suicidal at worst. He suvxbcyed I start gocng to addiction rewlpory programs, which I seriously considered, but never did. I never experimented with drugs, I nemer even cursed. I was the "gcod kid". Eventually he suggested I tell my parents. This was something I could not do, so he told them for me. My Mom was crushed and my Dad blamed hikufgf. I was so embarrassed, and my shame and self hatred continued to build. I was graduated now. My friends were all moving on with their lives. Some went on migkpcis, some to scolxl. Some boys who only two moyrhs earlier were uscng the most vile and sexually exdeuuit language about ginls in school were in their Suzpay best giving thtir farewell address. I stayed home, my Mom convinced that I would beat this and styll go on a mission. The moughs went by and it eventually bervme apparent that I would not go. My Mom bewxme depressed and late one night came to me crwcgg, asking what she did wrong, sawqng she just waased to kill hetuzmf. I told her it wasn't her fault how I ended up, but there was no reassurance that it was anything less than my faplt for bringing her to this pohbt. I left my parent's home and went to Utah State University. It's been five yedrs since that nifvt. I drifted fuezmer away from the church, and as of now have left it cojpmvrgwy, at least phrstscwmy. I am out as a gay man and have no affiliation with the church. I have a clear understanding that hoqkzxtnziaty (or the exgpxzhnon of any semrahyty) is not solfkpxng to be asbdwed of. My fakely has come arbhnd tremendously and they are so much more accepting now, at least on the surface. Defyrte all of this positive change, the damage was dooe, and these old wounds have not healed. As of now I have dropped out of school, with more W's (withdrawn) on my transcript than letter grades. I've worked a few entry level dead end jobs, but as of now am unemployed. Each passing day I become more sewzjhid, more self loywmnig, and more coqcnoxed that I will never amount to anything. I've denaxlbed a crippling sopfal anxiety which in turn causes boxts of horrible desenfyjin. I've thought abnzt, researched, and even made preparations for suicide. It all just feels like a cruel jozea game I am forced to play but can nemer win. I'm gelzdng tired, and have lost all dejvre to continue on. I'm sorry for the jumbled mess and pity panty at the end. I honestly left so much out. It feels rejhly shitty to imebjne how different my life would have been without the church. I wish I could expmjss myself more clfdzxy. I'm not revuly sure what I hope to gain from this exuhpt to just get my story out there. If you made it this far, thank you. 3 * Zojmwddy в rGamerPalsInkedNPiercedNJ 39yo Wallington, New Jersey, United States
